About Danielle Work

“What we know matters but who we are matters more.”

– Brené Brown

Hi there!

My name is Danielle Work and I’m the Project Manager at Habit Nest.

I joined the team in July 2019 and have felt like “a part of the family” since the very beginning. Seriously, it didn’t take long for me to realize that I get to work with some of the best humans ever! And yes, they’re all just as kind and genuine as they appear to be.

I currently reside in Wilmington, North Carolina which is approximately 2,600 miles and 3 timezones away from our co-founders in Los Angeles! So, how exactly did I get here you ask?

Well first, let me tell you a little bit about myself…

I’m 25 years old and I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. (GO BILLS!)

I attended SUNY Oswego where I majored in communication & social interaction and minored in sociology. To give you an idea of my college experience, I’ll just say that Oswego, New York sits on Lake Ontario and gets snow dumped on it, consistently, from October to March and could easily win the title of “Snowiest Place on Planet Earth.” I can’t even begin to tell you how many times my little Toyota Corolla got stuck in snowdrifts on my way to class or… in my driveway.

After ~20 years in upstate New York and many, MANY long and cold winters, I decided to relocate to a warmer climate, which brought me to Wilmington, North Carolina.

**Quick disclaimer about Wilmington: If you’re ever on the U.S. southeastern coast, be sure to pay a visit to our little beach town. It’s charm and character just might steal your heart the way it stole mine. Wilmington has been my home for the past 5 years and although I love my northern roots, I admittedly use the word “y’all” on a regular basis now and consider anything below 65 degrees “cold”…

Before working at Habit Nest, I was a freelance copywriter for 2 years and had the incredible opportunity to work with several small businesses all over the world. I worked on a variety of projects including website and ad copy, web design, ghostwriting, SEO content, landing pages, and more. Although I enjoyed working with so many different clients and learning so many new skills, I began to crave the idea of working on a team.

Enter: Habit Nest

When I applied for this position, I quickly realized what this company was doing for people was special and I wanted to be a part of it. After my interview with one of our co-founders, Ari, I was beyond excited at the chance to fill this role. Soon after, I received a phone call from another one of our co-founders, Mikey, offering me the job. I was ecstatic and I knew I had found what I was looking for, and more.

I’m honored to hold this role with such a special company and my goal is for this to always shine through in all that I do. We really and truly want to impact people in the most positive way and help them achieve what they set out to do. Please know, this is always at the forefront of our minds in every project we work on, every journal we create, and every step we take together.

When I’m not working, you can find me practicing yoga (namaste!), reading, singing (I love a good car concert), spending my summertime Saturdays at the beach, hanging out with my friends and family, traveling with my wonderful, incredible boyfriend Kevin, and visiting my adorable nieces any chance I get.

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about who I am and I’ll leave you with some fun facts about me:

  • I’m left-handed! 🤚🏻

  • I have a 4-year-old cat named Lily who sits under my chair while I work, every day. 😽

  • I was a tap dancer for 12 years and was nationally ranked in 2007 and 2012.

  • I’ve been in 13 musicals and almost went to college for musical theatre to fulfill my life dream of being on broadway!

  • I LOVE to sing and auditioned for “The Voice” in 2013. (Can you tell I’m a musical person?!) 🎤

  • I’m a diehard Buffalo Bills fan! (shoutout to my dad for teaching me the game of football) 🏈

  • I want to become a licensed therapist at some point in my life.

  • I’m the youngest sibling of 4.

  • I was a full-time nanny for almost 3 years and had the privilege of working with some of the best kiddos (and families!) in the world who I love dearly. (Miss you AR, JR, and AB!)

  • I worked as a cake decorator one summer during college and I can make a mean frosting rose. 🎂

  • My favorite food is carbohydrates. (So, working in a bakery was dangerous territory!)

If you ever have any questions or want to share your experience with our journals, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If I can’t help you or answer your question, I’ll make sure you get connected with the person who can.

OR if you just feel like chatting with me directly about cool topics like show tunes or the Buffalo Bills, that’s cool too. I’d love to hear from you!😊
