I have been more than pleased with my first purchase from Habit Nest. I have always struggled with finances because I have short-term memory loss. That and a couple of other disabilities have made trying to maintain budgeting for a family of five near impossible. I have tried many courses over the years.
I wish I could put all of the positive things about this journal into a review but it would take too long.
When I have the opportunity I am purchasing a set for both of my adult daughters. And I have a few friends in mind that would greatly benefit from these journals.
I would strongly recommend this system to anybody who struggles with any form of disability that makes budgeting complicated. I've had a number of courses recommended to me that very simply were more than my brain with some of the processing issues I have, could process.
This system has completely been transforming and very thankful for the gifts given and shared.
And I really do believe for the first time in 22 years of marriage I should have the ability to work and stay on top of a budget or work toward keeping a budget.
A few things I really like, I do not do well with online, so we purchased the physical hardbound copies. I really love the quality of the materials including the hard cover that I'm not worried about getting damaged so easily and the quality of the paper. I hope they do not change that.
I also really like the simple steps that they instruct us with and what to do as well as the advice given.
The journal is very thorough in explaining things for different personality types. They also answered one question that has always caused me trouble with budgeting -- how to budget a monthly budget when we get paid every two weeks. They explained how to do that. That is the first time anybody in any Financial course has explained how to work with that. So thank you.
Overall I think this is an excellent tool that can be used by just about anyone.
The only feedback that I would have wished for a change were two things, one is just a personal thing. I was surprised that within the monthly list there was no set list for giving or charity. I think in lieu of our worldview situation where right now we and the world are so connected globally, I think giving to people more in need than ourselves is something that should be encouraged. I would have liked to see that as one of the list items in the book, like bills and insurance. But there were blank sections so I could add it in.
The only other thing is that I would have preferred one or two pages per month to list the bills for that month, as with my family of five I just simply needed more space. I solved that by just taking another piece of paper and writing the list of bills and then tallying them up and adding them into the spot for bills. There is a place at the beginning of the journal for that kind of breakdown, but I would have preferred maybe at least one full page designated per month to listing the bills for that month. I would think one person income there would be plenty of space but we have the equivalent of a full page of bills.
I am very thankful to the people that put this together. And I sincerely hope that this company does exceedingly well. Their advice throughout the book is incredibly helpful for people learning how to build habits and in this particular book for those trying to learn how to manage a budget.
I would also emphasize using these journals for artistic souls. I am very right brained, a musician. I struggle with left brain practical skills. I would recommend this budgeting journal for any of my artist friends and will recommend this for anybody right brained that struggles to keep a checkbook.
I think this is a very simple method that can be used by those who tend toward creativity and are not so good at managing a checkbook.

I purchased 7 copies of the Combo for family. We are using them to keep jointly from across the country and are keeping each other accountable.. We have all been asked at the Gym about the books and we rate them high. My only issue is that they were printed in China. How much more would it have cost to print here in the USA? I would like to reorder when the journals are full. However this is a stopping point for me.
As a busy mom, I needed a zero excuses option for workouts. I can complete the workouts in my small space with no equipment. I'm already seeing improvements in my workouts (hello leg lifts and push-ups), feeling stronger and loving the variety of exercises. I told my sister about it and she bought a copy, too!
For the first time ever I got told I had an 🍑! I’ve only been using for about 3 weeks but is see a difference and can’t wait to see how much my 🍑 develops and grows!!

I am currently on the third book in the series and I am loving it! The exercises switch up so you don't get bored. Tips and tricks included throughout the books. Ways to challenge yourself are also written in. Ways to modify are also listed! I never to go to gym without it!
AMAZING! I've tooted the horn for you on Instagram to all my friends and will continue to share my journey with these books! I'm almost 40 and have been going to the gym for just about 20 years, with a couple years off somewhere along the way lol. When covid hit the gym was not a thing so I invested in home workout equipment. But something was still missing, I still wasn't sure of all the moves I could do at home with what I had. I made good progress in the 10 months since my top surgery, then got this book and IT HAS CHANGED MY GAME! I know at least 4x as many workouts per muscle group I can do at home now. I am thrilled to say the least. I also picked up the Gym Buddy Journal. Going to be rotating between home and the gym, so I haven't yet gotten to use it, but I'm sure it will be just as satisfying as this one. With that said, I'm going to challenge my earing habits and pick up your nutrition buddy Journal very soon! Thank you for these wonderful products. They really are a 'feel good' system to make you feel proud about yourself and achieve your goals at your level, and your pace, and they keep you healthy...physically and mentally.
The Bodyweight Home Exercise Journal not only gives me the freedom to replace exercises, for example, I work on my kneeling push-ups whenever a push-up variation comes up but the motivation and accountability to do the exercises as well. I am actually doing the exercises on my own without the need for a class. So the motivation is mine not an instructors. I think this motivation comes from learning how to do these exercises and actually enjoying the learning process. This was a great idea that is working for me. Thank you.
Overall, I like this journal. Think of it as a self-care system, not a self-compassion system. It is entirely focused on tangible outcomes, and if you need interior exploration and healing to get there, this may not be gentle enough. It’s very weak/strong lose/win bad/good in a man’s man kind of way. Likewise, if you struggle with mood disorders, look elsewhere.
That said, I’ve been able to use this journal augmented with my regular journal and various workbooks on healing. Read Tiny Habits. Be patient. Change your life out of love, not shame.
My own 'get my act together' journey began twenty-five years ago when I found myself the mother of two young children and a bunch of health problems. Before that I'd read a bunch of psychology style self-help books to help me understand a tumultuous childhood/teen years but as a new mom I suddenly had little ones depending on me doing simple things like cleaning, cooking and getting out of bed on time. Because my health was messed up due to complications from pregnancy, I was doubly desperate to figure out how to live our family's best life. Unfortunately, I didn't have this series. Instead I read copious books from the library, helped make Jeff Bezos a billionaire buying books on Amazon and tried strategy after strategy.
Things are different today. We have the internet - where you can access everything from badly researched blogs to excellent peer-reviewed reports. However, who has the time? I got these books when I had a relapse of health issues. My kids are grown now and I've shared all my learned wisdom with them but I find I need refreshers and I also have a bad way of putting all my needs second to anyone else in my life. So I saw these journal style volumes and thought I'd give them a try.
The information is excellent! If you are new to figuring things out in your life, I highly recommend- especially if you're feeling overwhelmed by work, life, family. You won't have to get lost in rabbit holes on the internet and wonder if the last hour of reading was really full of sound advice and you won't get sucked into any self-proclaimed self-help guru's very expensive line of products. These books are simple, easy, incredibly informative and perfect for just the right amount of reflection in a busy life.
If you're on the longer journey and you've read/sought out information on getting your act together before- this is a great resource to re-kick your butt into gear as well as refresh your mind and put things back into perspective. You might also find that some of your information is out of date or that what worked for you when you were twenty-two doesn't work for you now that you're forty-two.
For me, this first book is proving to be exactly the gentle every morning reminder I need to get every day started on the right track. The 'lessons' might be things I already know somewhere in this brain of mine but they're acting as great refreshers and I've got a new perspective on everything now too.
If you need a nudge to get your life running smoother, these are completely worth it!
I was guided to the morning sidekick when I stumbled across this gratitude journal. It couldn't have come across my path at a more crucial time in my life. Everything in the journal has reminded me and brought me back to the realization of the person I want to feel like on the inside. We are so guided to a superficial lifestyle that doesn't have merit or grace. I want to be in a better place and I know that with this journal I will have Peace within myself that will last the rest of my lifetime. Thank you for being real and kind in this journal and thank you for this beautiful opportunity!
One day at a time, you reflect on different topics and aspects of yourself. It gives you homework. It challenges you to see your best you and appreciate it. It works to reframe your opinion or approach to life around you.
This budgeting journal gets down into the details, makes you own your spending, and touches on short term through long term goals and how to find where it's slipping out of your pocket. Excellent! I wish they would've taught us this in school. It has changed the way I view my spending.
I've really been loving the printed home workout journal!
1. Steps/Exercises are easy to follow and descriptive
2. The exercises are as effective as you make them!
3. There are little tips/explanations along the way.
4. The tracker allows you to see your improvement over time.
5. It helps with maintaining an exercise momentum--the variety in the exercises allows one to be curious and not get bored quickly.
6. The printed version book/journal looks nice--sturdy, nice pages, solid color.
7. The customer service has been wonderful!
1. It's still up to the user to maintain a momentum. The journal is designed to help with the motivation/momentum (due to variable exercises/changing the focus up), but the user still has to keep the momentum going to see the benefits. :)
